Tagalog-dubbed Korean films to air in tvN's linear channels with Cignal
MANILA, Philippines – tvN has launched linear TV channels tvN Movies Pinoy and tvN Premium in partnership with Cignal TV.
tvN Movies Pinoy is a Tagalog-dubbed channel that brings the vibrant world of Korean films to Filipino audiences in their own language; this complements tvN Premium, a high definition (HD) channel that features the latest Korean dramas and shows.
For Cignal subscribers, tvN Movies Pinoy is now available on Channel 39, while tvN Premium replaces tvN Asia, now on Channel 237. tvN Movies Pinoy is also available on Video-on-Demand (VOD) through Cignal TV’s streaming platform, Cignal Play.

Park Hyun-Sik to visit Philippines for fan conference
MANILA, Philippines – South Korean actor and singer Park Hyung-sik will be in the Philippine next year to grace a fan conference, his management agency PCStudio announced Monday.
The fan conference, titled “SIKcret Time”, is slated February 17, 2024 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Hyung-sik expressed enthusiasm to meet his Filipino fans in the event organized by MQLive in partnership with TONZ Entertainment.

The STAR, TV5 bag MOPC journalism awards
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Overseas Press Club (MOPC) formally conferred the “Newspaper of the Year” award on The Philippine STAR yesterday.
The STAR editor-in-chief Ana Marie Pamintuan was recognized as “Journalist of the Year.”
The MOPC said Pamintuan embodied the “best in Philippine journalism today – brainy, hardworking, fair and balanced, courageous, global in values, local in relevance and unyielding in the search for truth, freedom and justice.”

Radyo5 TRUE FM’s Pursuit of Excellence Rewarded with “Best Radio Station” Award and Improved Ratings
MANILA, Philippines - Radyo5 TRUE FM has marked another important milestone by winning the “Best Radio Station” award at the recently concluded 11th Makatao Awards of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP).

27 September 2023 – BBC Studios announced today at APOS that it will launch its linear channel BBC Lifestyle on Cignal TV, a subscription-based direct-to-home satellite television service provider in the Philippines.
BBC Lifestyle will be available on Cignal TV from 1 October 2023 onwards, joining two existing premium BBC Studios’ channels, BBC Earth and BBC News.

GOMBURZA | MQuest Ventures Inc. and JesCom Films bring GomBurZa to the big screen
A new film about “GomBurZa” – the iconic trio of Filipino priests whose deaths in 1872 helped spark the Philippine Revolution of 1898 – will soon be released in Philippine cinemas.
The roles of the three priests – Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora – are played by actors Dante Rivero, Cedric Juan and Enchong Dee, respectively. The film also features leading actors such as Piolo Pascual, Epi Quizon, Jaime Fabregas and Carlitos Siguion-Reyna. GomBurZa is directed by award-winning filmmaker Pepe Diokno.

TV5's MediaQuest Holdings, Inc announced earlier today that TVJ and the Dabarkads have entered into an agreement to produce content for TV5 and other MediaQuest platforms.

One of the sectors within the media industry Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) initially entered through MediaQuest Holdings, Inc. is direct broadcast satellite. After the firm acquired a majority stake in the then GV Broadcasting System in 2007 and renamed it to Mediascape, Inc. the following year, a direct-to-home (DTH) satellite service known by many as Cignal was launched in 2009.
